Report parameter guide

Peak Systolic Velocity

Maximum speed of blood flow during heart contraction

Low: may indicate venous obstruction or severe stenosis

High: may indicate high flow states such as arteriovenous malformation or hyperdynamic circulation

End Diastolic Velocity

Speed of blood flow at the end of heart relaxation

Low: may indicate venous occlusion or severe reflux

High: may indicate high flow states or arteriovenous fistula

Resistive Index

Ratio reflecting resistance to blood flow

Low: may indicate low resistance such as arteriovenous malformation

High: may indicate high resistance due to stenosis or obstruction

Flow Volume

Total amount of blood passing through the vein per minute

Low: may indicate low cardiac output or severe venous obstruction

High: may indicate high cardiac output or arteriovenous malformation

Flow Direction

Whether blood is moving towards or away from the heart

Low: absence of forward flow may indicate occlusion

High: reverse flow may indicate venous reflux

Presence of Reflux

Whether blood flows backward during valve testing

Low: absence may be normal

High: presence may indicate valve incompetence or chronic venous insufficiency

Venous Occlusion

Whether the vein is blocked

Low: absence indicates patent vein

High: presence indicates blockage or thrombosis

It evaluates blood flow in the veins of a single limb to detect abnormalities such as blockages, clots, or poor circulation.
